Established in 2025, Gouda Web Works may be new to the scene, but its innovative approach and dedication to client satisfaction has quickly made it a force to be reckoned with. Based in the Netherlands, the company has carved out a niche for itself by exclusively building websites on the WordPress platform. I was, without a doubt, a geeky kid. While my friends were swapping football cards, I was trading pirated floppy disks filled with pixelated games and basic graphic editors. The clunk and whir of the disk drive was a sound that drew me in, promising adventure and the satisfaction of conquering technical challenges.
I was born in Cornwall, UK with its charming villages and strong community spirit, providing a solid foundation. However, a yearning for something more, a desire to explore beyond the familiar, began to take root. This restlessness led me across the Atlantic to Canada, a country of vast landscapes, diverse cultures, and endless opportunities where I spent 20 years of my life. In 2023 I moved to the Netherlands to settle with my partner. Here, in the land of tulips, windmills, and bicycles, I’ve finally found it. The Netherlands, with its relaxed society, rich history, and distinctly European charm, has become my home.
As a self-taught web designer, the evolution of my craft has been both challenging and rewarding. Transitioning from traditional HTML methods to WordPress has allowed me to create websites that are more dynamic, user-friendly, and engaging.
In my spare time I can be found cruising the quiet lanes of south Holland on my Harley Davidson, or sat by a canal enjoying the fishing.
Hosting Network
I have chosen Equinix in Amsterdam. I chose this location due to it’s Dutch geography and superb access to fast fibre networks.
Equinix operates its own high speed MPLS enabled network spanning multiple NL datacentres, designed for redundancy, speed and security across Europe. Their site offers multiple failover routes to the internet with all intersite connections at a minimum of 10Gb/s.
They utilise the latest Juniper MX routers at the edge of their network directly connected to Juniper EX series virtual chassis switches at the core with the entire network being dual IPv4/IPv6 stacked.
Equinix offers connectivity to major cloud service providers, and customers can take advantage of peering opportunities with our own Equinix Internet Exchange®, the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) and the Neutral Internet Exchange (NL-ix), where approximately 1,000 ISPs, telecommunications carriers, content providers and hosting services from all over the world interconnect. We use sustainable technologies to help our customers realize significant energy savings and reduce their CO2 emissions.
